The 55 miler starts at 6am on November 5th, 2022 at the northern terminus of the Batona Trail in Ong's Hat .
The 33 miler starts at 8am on November 5th, 2022 at Carranza Memorial in Tabernacle, NJ.
**This event is sanctioned by USA Track & Field**
Race Day Registration will take place at Lake Absegami Day Use Area (in Tuckerton, NJ).
55M Registration will take place from 3:30am to 4:15am - no new registrations for the 55M distance will be accepted after that time.
33M Registrations will take place from 4:30am to 6:15am - no new registrations for the 33M distance will be accepted after that time.

All participants will park at the Lake Absegami Day Use Parking Lot in Bass River State Forest and will be transported to the start via shuttle. Participants can be dropped off at either start line, but there is NO PARKING at the start areas.
Directions to Parking
From the Garden State Parkway:
Take exit 52 for New Gretna. Turn right onto Route 654/E Greenbush Road. After 1 mi, turn right onto Stage Road. Continue on Stage Road for 0.8 mi, then turn left into the Bass River State Forest. Drive straight back for .4 mi and park in the Lake Absegami Day Use Area lot on the right .
From the North by US-206:
Head south on US-206 and make a left onto 530 E. After 2.7 mi, turn right onto Magnolia Road. At the traffic circle, take the second exit onto 72 E. After 3.5 mi, turn right onto 563. After 13.7 mi, you will reach a fork in the road. Make a slight left onto 679. Go 5.7 mi then make a slight left onto 653/Leektown Road. After 1.1 mi, continue onto Stage Road. Drive 1.2 mi on Stage Road, then turn left into Bass River State Forest. Drive straight back for .4 mi and park in the Lake Absegami Day Use Area lot on the right .
From the West by NJ-70:
Take NJ-70 East to intersection with US-206. At traffic circle take the 1st exit onto US-206 South. After 14.7 miles turn left onto Middle Road (Route 613). After 1.3 miles turn left onto Myrtle Street. After 0.2 miles make slight left onto Columbia Road (Route 693). Follow 693 for 2.7 miles then turn left onto Nesco Road (Route 542). Follow 542 for 13.5 miles. Bear left on Leektown Road (Route 653) and follow it for 2.7 miles. Merge onto State Road and follow it for 1.1 miles to a left turn into Bass River State Forest. Drive straight back for .4 mi and park in the Lake Absegami Day Use Area lot on the right .
Bib Pick Up will take place on race morning ONLY.
If you do not pick up your bib at the shuttle loading zone at Lake Absegami your last chance will be at your start line. All bibs must be picked up at least 15 minutes prior to the start. No bibs will be handed out after that, no exceptions.
To help facilitate transportation logistics for this point-to-point run, shuttle buses will be provided the morning of the race. Shuttles will transport the runners from the finish line area to the start lines.
There will be NO shuttles back to the start from the finish at the end of the race.
The entire Batona Trail is marked with pink blazes.
At the southern terminus of the Batona Trail (approximately mile 53.0) tape, flagging and race signs will be used to direct participants along a 1.5 mile stretch to the parking lot at Lake Absegami Day Use Area in Bass River State Forest.
There will be seven well stocked aid stations with standard ultra fare including, but not limited to: water, Gatorade, soda, pretzels, candy, chips etc.
Portable toilets will be located at the start, finish and the following aid stations: Pakim Pond, Route 532, Batona Campground (at the raod crossing), Washington Road and Evan's Bridge.

Drop bags will be available at the following locations along the course: Finish line, Batona Campground (mile 21.5 of the 55 miler), the start of the 33 miler at Carranza Memorial and Evan’s Bridge (mile 43.1 of the 55 miler/mile 21.6 of the 33 miler). Participants should clearly label their drop bags with their NAME and AID STATION / MILEAGE and leave them at the Start. All bags will make their way to the Finish line as aid stations and start lines close down.
No pacers are permitted for this event.
Time limit is 14 hours for the 55 miler and 12 hours for the 33 milers. All participants must be finished by 8pm.
Cutoffs
Cutoff times have been implemented for the safety of participants and volunteers. No participants will be permitted to leave an aid station after the cutoff has passed. NO EXCEPTIONS.
The 55 Mile course has an elevation gain of 750' and a loss of 821'. It is nearly pancake FLAT with the high point being at Apple Pie Hill (mile 17.5) at an elevation of 176'.

Near the Start: Camping is available in the Brendan T. Byrne State Forest, which is located approximately 15 minutes from the start of the 55 miler. Tent campsites and yurts are available. Click here for more information. Near the Finish: Camping is available Bass River State Forest.
